Mazda 3 Skyactv and Mazda6i 2.5

About two weeks ago I had a chance to test drive the new Mazda 3 with the Skyactv engine and transmission as well as the Mazda6i 2.5.

Mazda3 skyactv:
I would like to preface this by saying that I was very excited to drive this car as it is a "fun to drive 40mpg car."

Pros: The pros of this car consist of the fuel economy and the power.

Cons: I did not like the other all feel of the car. It was a good car but I did not feel like the engine and the transmission were working together all of the time. The power train just had a somewhat unfinished feel.

Mazda6i 2.5:

Pros: This car felt stable and refined. It was sporty and responsive. The car as a hole inspired confidence and asked you to push it just a little further.

Cons: The only con I can feel is that the fuel economy is not near the top of the class.

In conclusion, as it stands I am not a fan of the skyactv engine and transmission.  It adds an fuel economy but leaves you feeling like the car will break at any time.
